What to do for limping?

Jerry Lee is my first rescue and I've had him for 12 weeks now. He was totally fine yesterday until I let him out before bed. He returned from outside with a slight limp in his front left. I was hoping it'd be gone by morning but almost seems slightly worse.

I started with checking his nails, webbing, pads, toes and then moved around and placed pressure on his joints from that leg. Nothing seems to bother him at all and yet he definitely has a limp. My vet is closed today.

Should I just keep an eye on it for a few days?

For today while the vet is closed, rest your dog. Just take him out to use the bathroom and maybe two 5 minute walks. If you have any anti-inflammatory medicine you can give that too. If his appetite is normal and he seems like his normal self except for the limp, he'll be OK for the day. If he's yelping, whining or you see redness or inflammation then I'd find an emergency vet.

Wow, it seems like he is not favoring it anymore. What a great thing to see, I was really worried! I had to work today and was reluctant to leave him.

I'll keep an eye on him but maybe it was a splinter that fell out or something. Very please.

Thanks for the reply. I'll jump back on here if anything persists
