Does this mean that dogs know what is 'right' and what is 'wrong'? That they have a sense of morality? Or is it just a protection instinct?

That's a pretty crazy video...I watched it last night and thought about it for a while. Still can't grasp what the heck that dog was probably thinking...

It's more like, "This is not normal" and they can sense the fear/emotions of the humans, and they react accordingly.

Just like a dog may not know that a stranger walking into the house is intent on doing harm, or robbing the place, etc. They know that this DOESN'T happen and isn't normal, so instincts to react take over.

Definitely interesting. I wanna say it wasn't a protection/alert thing, only because the dog on the couch seemed to wag his tail and looked more like he was having fun.. so I don't know really what to think. Seemed to react the way she wanted to though.

could have been my mother with a wooden spoon back in the late 50s and early sixties. our gsd never intervened but our cat did.
