Small breed dogs with puppy shepherd?

Hey out there.
I'm a dog lover an had 2 shepherds growing up. Now I'm married an the wife wanted 2 small dogs. Now that I just got a house an we have a big yard I'm getting a puppy shepherd. I just dnt kno which would be better for my situation a male of a female???would one get along better with a toy breed than the other? Or does it even matter? Both small dogs are male if that matters an r both 1 yr old. An neutered. Please help

When we brought our male GSD Jake home at 4 months of age our 10 year old Female Miniature Schnauzer was good after a day or 2 and now they are best buddies. I know that females have trouble accepting another female into their pack. I don't think the sex of your new puppy will matter seeing that you already have males. Good Luck and Have Fun!

I don't think it matters. I have a female and where were staying at right now their are 2 female small dogs, and they get along fine. Same as a friend has a male GSD and a male small dog who also get's along well :) And since you have 2 small male dogs I don't think it matters all the more lol.

Mace (GSD) and Koko (Chi/pom) grew up together. Got Koko in Jan and Mace in March of the same year. My GSD is very tolerant of the little one who is a total PITA!!!!! The little one gets reprimanded for his obnoxious behavior towards my GSD. In terms of food and toys they seem to respect each others space pretty well but Koko likes to dictate where my dog is allowed to go in the house. Working on correcting that behavior. :)
