I lost my tempercise s
I've never yelled at my dog, but she has been acting like a huge ass the past couple days, I give her all the exercise she needs, I just slipped today with midterms coming up and other things I feel bad I snapped and yelled. Am I a terrible person?

No, you're not a terrible person -- you're actually a good listener.

Dogs pick up on our emotions very well, and animals rarely if ever hold grudges so I think you're safe :)

If you're a bad person, I'm worse. That's the deal with humans - irrational, occassionally crabby, totally imperfect.

I lost my temper too one time just before I went to bed. He showed some fear of me until we went to bed but when I got up that night to let him pee it was all back to normal. I felt awful though and knew that I overstepped. They do forgive you really fast, at least if it's an unusual occurrence.

I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing that you let your dog know that his behavior was unacceptable and it made you mad. Dogs do it to each other.

stosh is entirely correct. i guess i partly felt bad because it was a puppy. but you're right, without correction they would literally walk all over us. these aren't toy dogs

Don't feel bad. I've just finished moving, I have finals coming up and I'm switching jobs. My boy decided that he wanted to add to my stress by acting his age, (he'll be 3 in May), I yelled at him to leave the room, which he did by almost dragging his belly on the ground verrrrrry slowly, however when I walked into the other room he acted like a complete goof again. I felt bad for yelling, but sometimes they need to be reminded vocally who is in charge. They still love you!
