Knew it was a matter of time :)

So the place I hike with Lola has several ponds. Usually she'll reach in and take a drink if she needs. Well, today she decided to jump in! It's like really cold today but the pond was half thawed since the last couple days was decent. (love this Ohio weather, lol)

She absolutely LOVED it, but since I was worried about her getting too cold we cut our hike short and only did 3.5 miles instead of the 5 I planned.

Which does make me wonder. How cold is too cold for them to get wet? If it matters she's a long coat. She seemed fine and happy, but her fur got a little icy so I figured I'd rather be safe than sorry. She didn't get fully wet, just about chest high.

I can't wait to take her when the weather is nice. She's going to love it!

Great Lola loves the water, but I can understand your concern. I would have headed back earlier also. I am cautious also and I think it is too cold for swimming or wading if ice is still somewhere on the water. Or if the air temperature is less than 50 F.
