Default Dogs in shelters where originally?

Do sometimes irresponsible owners that get dogs from a responsible breeder end up going to shelters? Are there are people out there who don't follow rules or directions from their breeders? How do breeders make certain owners are not irresponsible for certain?

Oh yes. Tasha was rescued from a high kill shelter, by a rescue where I got her. Papers and all. She is a WGSL from well known lines.

yes, and yes there are those that don't follow a contract which states "breeder has first rights of refusal".. I think most don't, because they are to embarrassed to call their breeder and say "I can't keep this dog take it"..it's easier to dump on a rescue/shelter or someone else.

Breeders can only trust the owners they sell puppies to, to abide by their contracts

My breeder keeps the micro chip info in her name, if her dogs end up in a shelter and they are scanned she will be called and she will get the dogs back.
Our local shelter has tracked down breeders before. If the dog appears purebred and is microchipped they will try to locate the breeder. Not all breeders are as good as we think and don't retrieve the dog, and some breeders are never located. Good dogs do end up in shelters sometimes.
