How big will he get?

16 week shots came today, Rabies and the rest. Weight at 16 weeks was 43.1 lbs. how heavy will he get? He has the same grandfather as my last GSD Cutter who topped out at 104.3 lbs.

Holy smokes! That's huge! Cafall was less than half that heavy at that age. I'd call the breeder and see how big the parents are, and if it's a repeat breeding how large the previous pups grew to.

he will get as big as he is genetically programed to be. does size affect or disqualify from shutzhund sport?

I would say 19kg (43lbs) is at the heavy end of a good weight range for average GSDs.

You say his grandfather was 104lbs, that to me is huge.

Who can say how big he will be once matured, however it is really important you grow him slowly so that he doesn't get too heavy and then prone to dysplasia.

If you grow him slowly and keep him at a trim weight (rather than overweight) he will still achieve his growth genetic make-up at maturity but may be less susceptible to medical issues due to being overweight.

My pup was 46.9lbs at 15 weeks.

At 10 mo he was 112.8lbs.Girth measurement was 38" yesterday but I haven't measured height lately.

His dad was ~95, mom ~75. Always kept him lean so he's carrying nothing extra...just very tall, long and lanky.

(He's fed RAW and intact, if that matters).

Hes big, for his health keep him lean. My girl has ribs showing, to some thats too skinny but shes healthy.

Our boy is a biggin. He was right at 45 lbs at 16 weeks. I can feel his ribs easily. He is not a heavy eater. He has a vet visit today at 17 weeks. I'm curious what he weighs in at.

I am going to estimate his dad at 100 lbs. His mom was 85 lbs.

My GSD is over the standard height wise, he is 28-28.5" inches tall at the shoulders. He weighs between 85-90 pounds and he is lean, he could easily be 95-100 pounds but his hips are not great so I keep him lean so he doesn't have to carry around extra weight.

I never want him to reach 100 pounds let alone go over it.

Keep your dog lean, keep him at a healthy weight and don't worry about how large he will be, GSDs are not supposed to be 100+ pound monsters.

Rebell is very lean for his weight, between his ribs and back legs I actually call him skinny. He is very active and very long, he can already get his front paws and head over our 30" kitchen island to look for food.

The weight chart I have previously seen shows the average male to be 41 lbs at 4 months so I thought that would be about average?
Unless the chart I'm looking at is outdated or incorrect. It's what I was using to see if Zoe was on track. I was concerned she was growing too fast. I've read so many horror stories of bad hips on here I am definitely trying to keep her trim.
