Commands in German during obedience classes

So I am planning on on enrolling my puppy in basic obedience classes. I would also like to have him enrolled in IPO/Schutzhund classes as well. I know a lot of commands are given in German in IPO/Schutzhund classes. Should I start him with German commands in his basic obedience classes?

If you are going to be training your finished behaviors, meaning your formal OB positions as opposed to sloppy, around the house behaviors, then you can use your finished commands. If the trainer understands the sport and will help you to shape the positions properly, then you can use those commands you will use in IPO training.

I would ask the trainer. You don't want to pollute the commands you want to use in formal training.

As an example, my dogs will "go lay down" which looks like; hmm hm hmmmm, here's a good spot, circle, circle, flop on their hip. Or AF (down) which is an immediate drop in a specific way to a specific position.

When a dog saves the life of a man, it becomes clear that partnership knows no bounds.
