Default Joint custody

I wanted to get some thoughts about my situation...

I have two german shepherds that I got with an ex of mine just over two years ago. We split up and he move out only 3 months after we got our puppies Kyra and Kolby. I've kept them and their "Dad" came by every once in while but for almost a year and a half I was the only one caring for them and he very rarely came around. Anyways, they recognize his voice on the phone and always get exited to see him and a couple months ago my living situation changed and they moved in with him for about a month, I visited almost every day. They are back with me and he still visits occasionally and will come take them for walks.

I'm just curious if any one shares custody of their dogs with exes and how you think it effects the dogs??

I have never been in this situation. IMO, I don't see where it hurts anything as long as the dogs are happy and healthy. I would say as long as you and the Ex are happy with the joint custody then good for everyone involved and the dogs.

Doggie's need their daddy too.

I admire that both of you make it work the way you do. If I was to guess, I would say it doesn't affect them. They're probably happy that they still get both of you.

I think its great that you guys are able to do that . I don't think it can hurt the dogs, they probably love it.
