Pet Insurance

So I just got off the phone with pet plan pet insurance. They can cover up to 22,000 dollars a year. I don't believe my dog would cost that much so I just asked about the 10,000 coverage. It would $37 a month? Does anyone think that's a lot? Does anyone use this pet insurance or any pet insurance? Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

37 a month is pretty reasonable, but I would want detailed info on exactly what that covers. Is it just emergencies? Does it cover routine, vacs etc??

The guy I spoke with sais it covers anything that has to do with the dogs health. Not only emergencies. If it gets sick, hit by a car, ear infection, cancer, anything at all. But there is this deductible that you have to pay. Choices are 50, 100, 200. So if you went with the price of 50 your monthly charge would be more expensive, but if something cost over 50, depending on what percent you have them cover you would get money back. But let's say you had the 200 deductible, and a check up with some shots was 180 all together. You would have to pay that with no reimbursements.

That deductible is per incident, not per year.

Check out Healthy Paws. I think that is the one I"m going with.

The Healthy Paws looks pretty good. May force me to get my OFA x-rays before my PetPlan term renewal (no concerns but a 12 month exclusion) and switch over provided no problems Will have to do some research on customer satisfaction. One hidden feature in Pet Plan is that the copay is higher for specialists than regular doctors and most of my BIG expenses have been with specailists. Heathy Paws does not have that exclusion.

Let us know how the policy details read if you get it.
