Command barking

Hi guys

Can anyone guide me on how to train my 9 month old female gsd to bark on command please??

Thank you :)

This is going to sound really stupid, but I just barked at mine and said "speak" until she realized what I wanted. Then I did the same thing with "whisper". Once one dog knows it, its a lot easier.

I teased my dog relentlessly with a piece of food or toy that she wanted while saying "get mad" and as soon as she barked I marked it with YESSS and gave her what she wanted.

We're narrowing down the meaning of "get mad" to growling on command now lol

I am not sure how yours is with barking already. Like, does she bark a lot or is already very vocal?

Titan was not.... ever. Lol. So what worked for me was this.. He is EXTREMELY toy driven. I once got him all riled up and ready for a game of fetch. I acted like I was going to through the ball but didn't. It took a little while but eventually he got so excited that he let out a bark (of sorts, lol) and then he got the toy. Eventually he would bark when I held the toy up and I added my speak command "Speak" I would then say that every time I held the toy or my hand up and eventually was able to just say it without the hand being there. I like to teach vocal commands AND hand signals for the same command so I paired the two again with a hand signal of my choice. Consequently, he has 3 commands now for speak, hand over my shoulder (like your throwing a toy), hand on my chest, and "speak."

I get my pup all riled up playing. When he starts barking I give him a treat with the word, Bark! Took him a couple hours to get it but he's got it down now with no treats.

She only barks when she sees someone ( sometimes) and if she hears a noise in the garden she is off on one. But thanks guys will try what you say :) love that video by the way and the American accent hehe!
