Ugh--insurance

So just a rant...looking for a good deal on home insurance in VA, and I find an amazing price! Super excited....only to find that I don't qualify because of my sweet GSD...the same GSD that let's the mailman bring packages right to my front door...oh well...any solutions out there?

I pay $50/yr per GSD for my home owner's insurance. The premium and coverage is good enough that finding another company without the surcharge would actually be way more expensive (we use a smaller company that insures teachers in our state).

Coke (All-American 7/7/06)
Nikon (GSD 9/7/08)
Indy (All-American 5/10/12)
Legend (GSD 10/22/13)
Rainbow Bridge Kenya (GSD)

The company with the great rate is a small local company but GSDs are on their "bad dog" list!

We have State Farm - it covers our home and autos. I've brought my dog into our agent's office, so she knows I have a GSD and never mentioned any exceptions to the policy because of her, we also have the umbrella coverage.

If you can go with State Farm, check out their website and go to State Farm Bank. I got my VISA through them and earn points towards my premium when I use my card.

It would help if you add your location in your user's profile. Some companies do not ask (so we don't tell), some companies offer the dogs evaluation, and some companies don't restrict. Obviously most operate in the specific geographic market and you will not benefit from the info from another part of the country.

Yes, I can do that. I did say in my rant that I'm from Virginia...my current homeowners policy by nationwide does not have restrictions, so not all is bad, but I was so excited by this great new quote and then disappointed....
