He's GORGEOUS!!!

Have you had him assessed by a veterinarian? The only reason I ask is because I just rescued/adopted a GSD whose ribs and hip bones are very prominently showing. He was just diagnosed with EPI, which is why he is so malnourished. I hope your baby just needs love and nourishment!

He does go to the vets next week! i will talk to her about that, they said that pound life stressed him out large and he hardly ate, and he had the runs alot. The shelter vet did not find anything wrong and chalked it up to nerves, now i know shelter vets are under an insane amount of rush and stress but he did pass the health test..he has had two weeks of pampered prince life now with healthy food, comfy beds and 10 k hikes through the woods, and thank god solid poops.

If your getting solid stools now I doubt your dealing with Epi. You should start to see some weight gain, slow is better.

He is a purebred bi-color GSD. Congratulations on your new edition and thank you for rescuing him.

i like the "real GSD". i was sitting at a restaurant with Loki
and this couple walked pass. the lady said, "that's a real
German Shepherd". to the OP. i also think you have a "real
German Shepherd.

Thank you for all the wonderful feedback, now i have another question, he is great with the kids..but when the lights go off he becomes mister guard dog and will not allow the oldest (who has a loft above the garage) to come down for pees, he barks like a mad man at him and pursues him i dont think he would bite him but he does look as though using the bathroom is a bad idea, its easily stopped with a correction which is awesome except when i am asleep and jackson needs to come down, is this a matter of him being more social with jackson? should i send the two out for love walks? I am at a loss here on how to make tyson go "oh its just jackson everything is fine" i should add that jackson can come and go as he pleases when it is not night time,
