Default 2 male shepherds?

Will two male shepherds close in age (1-3 years apart) get along?

Let me clarify: 2 males living together.

A lot of people recommend have an opposite sex pair, but I've had two male dogs (1 and 4 years) living together with no problems. I think it really depends on the individual dogs.

I've always had male pets. Zeke and Luther were 1.5 yrs apart in age. And now Zeke is almost 6 years older than Berlin. I've never had a problem.

I notice female dogs fighting a LOT more. I don't know if I would want 2 female dogs together.

I have heard that for some reason neutered dogs tend to go after intact males.

I think two males or a male/female pairing works the best. Once you get into the female thing, I think age makes a difference.

I have had multiple males, age differences were 2-4 years apart. No problems. Two were intact and as well had a female spayed..

Personally I'd rather have multiple males vs multiple females, this of course, depends on the temperaments as well. I want temperaments that will compliment each other.

I've had males of all ages, get along ok. It's been the females that fight. Just my experience I've heard horror stories of males fighting. The trick I guess is getting the right mix of personalities.
