WD's sense of order
All our dogs sleep in their crates at night. This morning I smelled the smell of vomit in one of the old dogs' crates. I let them out and closed all crates so I could clean that up later (after morning coffee).
WD did not agree. As I sat down for coffee I heard him bark the you-need-to-help-me bark. So I got up and I saw him standing in front of the soiled crate, basically telling me to take care of it by pointing his nose at it. So I did; carried the crate outside, WD following me to watch, cleaned it out and he was content. Nobody, except for WD, would ever be able to lure me away from coffee to clean out a dirty crate. Can't believe I have a dog telling me when to clean. So this is how much power GSDs have over us? |
LMAO!
Too funny! They really are so clever. They certainly have a way of getting us wrapped around their little paws, don't they? |

Ever been to Germany? See them washing the windows? :D |
LoL. They have that particular power. We think we are the 'Alpha', but they have that way of making us do their particular bidding when they want it. Love it.

LOL my dog Scooter is the same way, although he's not a GSD. He is very strict on rules and order. Sometimes my old girl, Wooby, can't hold it all night and poops in the house, and usually I clean it up right away. A couple of weeks ago it happened when I was sick with the flu, though, and I decided to leave it until my medicine and caffeinated tea had a chance to kick in. Nope! Scooter stood in front of me staring, and every time I so much as shifted my weight, he'd run into the other room, then back and forth for a few minutes until he realized that I wasn't following him to clean it up, then he'd come and stare at me again. After about 10 minutes of this I got so annoyed that I went ahead and cleaned it up, at which point he sighed in contentment and went to sleep on the couch. LOL
He also enforces bedtime and used to enforce a polite wake-up routine, but as he's gotten older he tends to sleep in so not so much that anymore. |
Oh yes, my puppy is my alarm clock!
On Monday, my alarm clock was out and I thought it was 1 am. She kept waggign her tail in her crate. Then at 1:30am, she was wagging again. Why the heck does she think we're waking up now?! Then at 2:15am I get a phone call from work. Am I ok? Yes, but you woke me up! It's 7:00am, you're late. LOL Whoops. My puppy is a better alarm clock, then my real alarm clock! :D |
