48 hours...

Beth is probably the most enjoyable dog I have ever had the pleasure of having in my home. For now, she is content doing just about anything we ask for nothing but a smile, and a 'good girl'.

Walking her is relatively pleasant. She heels pretty well and will now automatically sit when I stop walking. She is getting a handle on 'down'. 'Up' is another one we're working on since I have to diaper her right now (went in first heat, first night here).

She had one accident in the house yesterday. Hubby yelled at her when she surprised him by lunging at one of our cats. He is a big guy, and Beth is a strong girl!!! At any rate, that was her only accident.

We spent quite a good amount of time playing 'leave it' games outside. When indoors, she is on her leash, by my side at all times. When cats dare to show their faces, and she looks to me when I say 'leave it' without lunging, she gets a good girl. Occasionally, a teeny bit of bacon. Teeny.

We've had a few encounters with a modicum of success.

She hasn't touched any food except for what I cheered her on to eat (maybe 100 pieces).

So....this is our first two days in a nutshell.

She is currently exhausted....and panting, poor thing. Lots of stress for her, I'm sure.

Poor baby, a new home and being in heat at the same time, it is most likely a stressfull time for her. Sounds like she has found a great home and will be settling in nicely. Please share some pics with us when you can, we love pics on here.

I was afraid I was already overdosing everyone with pictures of her.

Thanks. Tonight, she thought she was going go after the cat again. Too bad for her, I was at the end of my rope. She had the thought and as her muscles twitched in her shoulders, I growled, 'Don't EVEN think about it! SIT. DOWN.'

And she sat, then dropped down, pretty as you please.

Excuse me? I am either a) THE best trainer in the world (ha!) b) Beth is just THAT smart c) she already knew these commands and has been pulling our legs (and arms out of their sockets) or d) I wore her raggedy butt out!
