Beth will growl, snap, and bare her teeth at our outdoor cats, but pays very little mind to the indoor cats. Threw the Kong down the hallway, sent Beth after it, she sees the cat on the arm of the couch, and I thought that would be the end of our game. But she sauntered by Dexter (massive cat), gave him a brief look, and brought me the Kong.
It's like she has already determined that all beings in the house are friends. |

my dogs can be like that as well. I have 4 indoor cats no problem, outside cats (not mine I don't have any outside) all bets are off.
My chickens had to stay in the house when I first got them, and for 4 days during Storm Sandy, they never bothered them, outside my aussie wouldn't hesitate to pounce on one and probably take it further.. I don't think what Beth is doing is unusual or unheard of

Funny thing... Rocco adores our cats (although they don't care for him much, lol). Yet, if he is outside, looking in through the glass doors, he acts like he wants to eat them. I mean he really looks vicious. He barks, jumps at the door like he's trying to get them. It's so weird. Once inside, he just wants to play with them.

i don't have a cat. my dog visits the neighbors who have
2 cats and they get along just fine. i was sitting on the front steps. my dog was laying in front of me. a stray cat passed within 10' of us and my dog started after it. i yelled "stop" or "no" and my dog stopped. i don't think he was going after the cat to play.

Same thing with Jax. Cracker is an annoyance that she has to tolerate, and sneak a stomp on his head once in a while. Outside cats are fair game.

Apparently, cat season has is officially on in our home, now. We ave lots of work, but have confidence that Beth will come to realize that our cats are too stringy and mean to eat.
Ziggy has taken to sitting in front of Beth's crate and doing that whining growl cats do - but just until Beth goes all Cujo. Maybe our girl doesn't hate ALL cats, just the annoying, smart-a$$ ones. |
