Default Apartments Requiring DNA Tests For Dogs

My sister is looking for a new apartment with her two dogs and one of the complexes allows all breeds, but only certain percentages of dogs on their 'dangerous' list. To determine the percentages, they are requiring that all dogs are DNA tested before you are approved to live there. My sister has decided on a condo instead, but I wanted to know if anyone has heard of rental units requiring this before?

Those DNA tests aren't even accurate. That's ridiculous and a waste of money.

That is ridiculous! DNA tests aren't always accurate. In fact, some are very wrong. My coworker had one done on her AKC registered rottie and it came back saying: beagle, labrador, husky and weimaraner. -_-

I wouldn't even bother trying to live there. I like her condo idea

sounds like a way to keep all but small companion dogs out of the complex.

Then she should be able to get an apartment there!

This complex even has a required vet that you MUST go to and they charge $260 for the test. When my sister was talking to the leasing agent, she was told that they don't have many vacancies.I don't know if it's because a lot of people don't have dogs or they are paying for the test.
