A police dog, teak, from Vancouver, BC was injured on the job Friday night. He was stabbed in the neck by an armed robber. The Vancouver police just released an update that teak made it through surgery and released from the Vet, but he will be retired early due to this incident.

Kudos for that brave boy! I'm glad he made it through surgery. He deserves a long and happy retirement.
![]() It's the same here in the US. I'm pretty sure assaulting a canine officer is treated exactly the same as if you were assaulting a human officer. They are a very important and revered part of our police force. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

So glad Teak will be ok and will have the chance to enjoy his retirement w/ his family.
These dogs give so much. I love that he sleeps in bed w/ his people . Just goes to show how great these GSDs are. I wonder if he's fro, Carmspack?

I don't know what the laws are here, but every police dog should be called a police officer, and criminals who harm and/or kill them need to be charged with "assault", "murder", etc. of a police officer. (If it's not the law already) Have a long and relaxing retirement brave boy!
