I would do nothing because I suck at confrontation. What I wish I would do: have a nice conversation about both issues and if it isn't resolved scoop the poop up and leave it in an inconvenient place on their land: in front of their steps, by their car, or on their porch.

My neighbors dogs sometimes poop in my front yard, but so does my dog, so I don't worry about it and I clean it all up every few days. And it goes both ways with both neighbors on the sides of me. So if you already have poop out there then I might not say anything to them about it. However, if you do not let your dogs use your front yard, then I'd be pretty upset if the neighbors dog was pooping out there and I'd have a not very nice conversation with them about it. If they had any respect for you then they would not be laughing about this when it happens. So you really have toning to lose by being direct with your interaction.

When I have a problem with a neighbor's dog I've talked to them ... one listened ... one told me where to go. IMHO if talking doesn't produce the results you're looking for, I'd then take the next step and call animal control.

I'll try and catch one of them when they come home tomorrow. And no, we don't let our dogs in the front yard, so I don't appreciate it. New fallen snow tonight and my son will be angry when he gets up and I have to tell him he can't go out there.
Maybe I'll have HIM go talk to them! LOL He won't be nice about it. And wolfy dog....I think I might have to make one of those signs! I love that.

I would talk to them nicely and make it clear that no dog poop will be left on my lawn. Ever. If that doesn't work then they will enjoy some nice poop on their doorstep. Is it possible for you to put up a fence for your front yard? I love that the house I rent right now is fenced both in the front and back.
