Would You Give Your Dog Away In A Special Circumstance?
This question is kinda different. If you met someone who really bonded with your dog and would provide a good home, would you let that person have them?I'm not talking about someone who says 'oh your dog is beautiful',but someone who really emotionally connects with the dog maybe because of a past loss etc ,and the dog connects with them.

no, with the exception of my daughters. that being said, i would gladly help them find their own dog.
|
noooooooo....where do you come up with these questions?
|
It would have to be a extreme circumstance, like I was severely ill and couldn't care for them. Even then if at all possible I would ask my family to care for them if I could get better
I'm very choosy about making sure a dog matches me so the chances of there being about family that's better would be rare :) |
No. I love my dog. I would gladly refer him to my breeder.

That is how my friend got her ASL male. She lost her last one due to bloat. When she went to help someone out with their shepherds, Nick immediately bonded and so did she. I don't mean just got along. I mean...
Nick is a very calm dog. He's ok with getting love from people but generally doesn't care one way or the other. He was already 4 when she met him. Even his owner didn't have that strong of a relationship with him. But when they saw each other the first time, Nick RAN full-speed to her, tail wagging all over the place. He is always with her, and is truly her shadow. When the owner saw the reaction, she decided that Nick would be perfect for her. She gave him to her to help her mend her heart, and because they were meant for each other. (: Personally, however, I would NEVER give my dog up just because someone else liked them/bonded to them. I would refer them to my breeder or other good breeders I know of. But they would not be getting MY baby. |
If that situation were to happen, it would likely mean that my dog wasn't all that bonded to me. I can't imagine it happening but if for some reason it did, I'd have to seriously consider if it would be a better home.
One of my previous adopters obtained one of her dogs this way. Her Ex lived with his Mom and they had a Shepherd. He passed away and after that the dog kept escaping and showing up at the adopters house until one day his Mom asked her is she wanted the dog because the dog clearly wanted to be there. |
Never..... I love my dogs too much, they are family.

If it was my pug? I'd probably do it. My shepherd? You'd have to pry him out of my cold, dead hands! :p

This one just popped up. I'm sure some up here think I'm crazy:D.
