Grew up with rough collies. In my early 20s, we had a Dobie cross and I liked the more "serious" aspect to her personality. I never thought much about GSDs though, take them or leave them. When my daughter started getting old enough to stay alone at times at our house, I decided she needed a big friend. We agreed we would get either a GSD, a Dobie or a Rottie. By chance, there was an ad for GSD pups that same week we decided. They were only 2 weeks old when we went to look at them. Brought home our pick when he was weaned. Have Never. Had. A. Better. Dog.
Never.
He is definitely "my" dog, but he will go all out for any of our household. I would never have believed how intelligent a dog could be, how just plain loyal and "concerned" about their people.
Will always have a GSD now. Always.
