This will probably be long but bare with me (please
![]() ) So in a 2 mile radius of my house we have a few dogs. 4 GSD's, including 1 sable, 2 black and tan and 1 white. 2 Akita's 1 Husky 8+ Staffs 3+ Mixed breeds Out of the gsd's they are all aggressive. Theyve all been in sight of kai when out on walks and all go for him. even their owners struggle to cope with them when this happens. This is the same for all the dogs in my area expect 2 staffs. My worst nightmare is a dog going for kai What would i do in a dog fight? kick and punch the **** out of the other dog till he lets go? open the other dogs mouth? tbh i wouldnt mind getting hurt during it. __________________________________________________ __ Other note on the dogs All the gsd's are agressive. Theres one that lives down my road. Hes massive and amazingly beautiful. But when he see's kai he just goes for him. As hes always walked on an extenable lead he just keeps on going until he reaches the limit. The owner doesnt really care the white Gsd is called shelly. she is owned by 3 females that i know and they love kai . They used to have 2 dogs a male and female. The male died and ever since then the female, shelly, has turned aggressive to every other dog. Jeeze id love if people actually researched breeds before getting them and have in mind a way to bring them up right Rant over

Avoid a dog fight at all costs, even if you have to drive to a safe place (five minutes) and walk Kai there.
If a fight breaks out with Kai, it would be gallant to protect him/her, but you stand a significant chance of being injured. I wouldn't advise using your hands for anything, especially trying to "open the mouth" of a dog in attack mode. Carrying a big stick, bear spray, or stun gun might be your best option.

I am planning on getting WD used to the sound of an air horn like this: Air Horn-Party City
As soon as you see a dog approach/run, focused on yours, with trouble in mind than blast. But of course get your own dog used to it first. I have heard good results from it. Worth a try? When a miniature Schnauzer charged at him, I put myself between WD and him, threw a ball away from me for WD to chase, and told the little pest, "GO HOME!!!" It worked but I would not try this with a big dog.

If you are seriously concerned about these dogs getting loose and attacking yours, you should drive somewhere else to walk your dog. Do not reach in to a dog fight and especially don't put your hand in any dogs mouth, not even your own. You will get hurt in the process and it likely won't help stop the fight and could increase the tension.
Best thing to do is have at least one person per dog and to grab the dog by the back legs and hold until they let go and get a barrier in between the dogs ASAP.
