This sounds like a pretty easy question, but I am sure everyone has their own reasons. For me, it's because we always have rescue dogs here and between my one dog and the 2-5 rescues dog we have at any moment, that keeps us busy. I do toy around with getting another permanent dog here, and have almost had a few rescues that I've kept, but there is always a home just as good as yours or better who will love them as well.Of course there's that pesky thing called money that you have to have more of,the more animals you have

I have 3, that is enough for me. Though I'd really, really love to foster but my females aren't great when it comes to other dogs...so I can't. It wouldn't be fair to the foster to have a transition, then get adopted out. My pack dynamics are fine now, but I know adding another, even temporary would upset it.
If I could that is what I'd do instead of adding another pack member, just have an opening to foster as often as needed. I wasn't 'fulfilled' til Karlo came into my life, now I don't seek out adding another like I did before that. |

There are days where I think, "well, just one more wouldn't hurt..." and days when I'm thinking "what was I thinking getting a second dog!!" lol
Once Delgado's finished growing up I might consider a third but that would be it for sure and it would have to be another very special dog Probably a older dog from a rescue.I like two, each dog takes a lot of training and time, not to mention money. It's easier splitting time between two dogs and meeting their needs.

My current dogs keep me busy enough! I need to work with my 2nd dog more before I can even think about getting a 3rd dog. It wouldn't be fair to the ones I have now.

Time and money.
I love dogs and would take in the disabled and difficult to relocate type rescues (maybe 3 or 4 or more?!?), in addition to getting a border collie puppy and maybe another GSD.. If only I had the time and the money! I've certainly got the heart, the desire, and the patience. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

Time and space.
If I had more of both I would start a retirement home for unwanted seniors. Raw food, lots of land to wander and play, warm fires to lay in front of and all the love they could handle. ![]() But, with traveling every week for work (DH watches the 'kids') it keeps me limited to my current pack of seven.

Pack dynamics.... When you get one that works, I'm always hesitant to upset it by bringing in another dog. We have 3 now but may take one more in the near future, we've got two older dogs and the one younger one and I think maybe another young one may be in order.

Waiting for the litter to be whelped... Haha.
Space and money was my concern.

TIME!
![]() I am hoping this is going to change very soon though. I am in a senior position at work so I have a lot of responsibility and am never home right now. If I had more time I would definitely add a third. I am hoping to in the future, but right now I am content with my two and only have time for the two crazy beast... plus the cat.. lol.
