Curiosity has gotten the best of me and I have to ask, and I do not mean to offend anyone, but I dont know any other way to put it, but what is the deal with so many posters from the middle East (I presume) asking if their dogs are purebred and why do so many of these adult dogs have such deformed legs? There are countless "is my dog purebred" and "whats wrong with my dogs legs" threads on the PDB and now a few here.
Do buyers there not get to meet the parents of their pups? Are the pups being sold from other places? As far as the alarming number of severe leg deformities, is there limited breeding stock? Poor breeding stock? Poor diets? What gives?

I would assume good breeders of any breed are not that common. They don't view canines the same as we do?
The marketing for nutrition isn't as huge so getting the diet right may be difficult too, unless they feed a balanced raw diet, thus the growth/development issues. So finding a breeder that has knowledge of pedigrees, and other prerequisites as we are familiar with for responsible breeding practices isn't easy. |

Most Muslim household would not consider a pet not alone a dog, there are tons Stray dogs and cat in the outskirts of the city, if you roam around the city you will probably see 1 in 100 person that has a dog, most dog owners are either farmers or Europeans, middle eastern don't see dog as a pet they see them as a working individual so the dog spends most of their lifetime outside in a kennel and they eat left over cooked food from the owners, so they don't have the best nutrition out there. If you want to buy a dog it will be most likely a mix because the owners dog got pregnant with a stray dog. With that being said there are breeders that will sell purebred GSD but very very over priced... Sometimes about 2000 dollars for a non registered puppy. I'm not trying to offend anyone here this is solely based on what I have heard and seen while I lives in Dubai. |
