The brown ones are the fresh ones, and they are softer -- they also seem to be nearly as yummy to a dog as a bully stick, and they give off a lot of odor when chewed (because the marrow is fresh inside them). The older the antler, the harder they are. The white ones are a few years old and dried out -- they are very hard, kind of like an old bone that's been in the sun a while. Those take a looooong time to gnaw down, but they also aren't as yummy from the dog's perspective. Mine are excited to chew on the fresh brown ones, and those barely last a week. The white ones are just mildly interesting by comparison, and last for months--they gnaw a while, but not as obsessively as on the brown ones. |

I boughtfrom Tilly's while they were at ChristmasTown (Busch Gardens). She brought a HUGE range of sizes and styles, including moose paddles. I got a moose antler base for Piper... she loves the little knobbies on the end where it would have connected to the moose. It was $27, but should last for at least a year.

1. Any issues with damaging/wearing down teeth? 2. How would they be on carpet? I assume non staining but are there any issues that would be worse than the slobber that comes off the kong? |
