If he starts the habit of barking, you can bet your neighbors who are at home all day will not be pleased.
Bahaha! Those neighbors have the annoyance-barker, a stubby old hound dog that roams the neighborhood and barks his head off 24/7. I've jokingly (or not...) offered to get them a muzzle for Christmas.
So, assuming Kaiser will continue to be indoors during the day, how should I revise our old morning exercise routine to keep him from being destructive? Before Hubby got laid off, it went like this:
6:00-6:45: Indoor interactive play with toys/obedience
7:00-7:30: Downtime in kennel while I get ready for work
7:30-8:00: Either a walk or backyard playtime, with obedience. Backyard playtime = fetch, frisbee, and chasing a plush toy tied to the end of an old leash (the poor man's flirt pole)
8:00-8:15: Kaiser telling me to leave already, by running back and forth to me and his gated space, impatient for his Kong.
He was never really bad or destructive after this routine at 5 1/2 months. Mostly he just crashed and slept all day. Does this sound adequate for half of a 7-month-old's daily exercise, or should I ramp it up somehow? He'll get the same in the afternoon, if not a little more. Thanks new friends!
