I don't ignore people but there has been a couple times where I didn't get notice of a new pm and so it went unchecked for a while before I realized it was even there. I've also forgotten to reply if it's a particularly long message that I open and can't get around to reading/answering atm and forget to reply to later.

Aimee....I ignore PM's....worse yet, I've probably ignored yours Forgive me???

I do ignore PM's. I admit it. It is not malicious or with intent, it's just pure slacker laziness!!
Here's what happens: I login every so often to post a reply. I see I have a PM. I read it and realize I'm running late for something so I leave it unanswered. Time slips away, I get lazy, time keeps going, and finally when I sit down to respond to the PM's, I realize that I've taken an embarrassingly long time to reply so I just hide my head in the sand rather than replying at that point.

Sorry I suck. If I ever don't answer a msg, prod me and say HEY SLACKER, REPLY ALREADY!!!

Nope, I don't ignore PM's. I do try to respond to them as soon as I log on and realize I have one.

I think I set mine so only moderators can do it. I'm on too many forums and would spend hours reading and answering every PM. E-mail is always the best way to reach me. Often I get PMs and don't realize it until weeks later so I try to disable them if I can but most forums don't have that option (on another forum I just let my box fill up so people can't PM me).

I usually reply (and politely) to all PMs but recently I refused to reply to an interchange where the person was going back and forth being rude and condescending...after about the 3RD PM from the same person I did not bother to answer back.

Same thing with someone posting a rude comment on the board that appeared to be meant to goad me into a fight. Not worth my tme.

I have sent a couple PMs that have been ignored, or maybe read without feeling the need to reply. Not sure why, maybe because the person didn't know me at all and didn't want to waste their time? Or maybe they don't log in often? Someone posted about their dog chewing on sticks, sticks being the only thing their dog would chew on. When I saw the thread it was a couple days old already so I figured I would pm the OP about a Nylabone product that was made from real wood. No response. Whatever.

I always reply to a pm. I figure if someone took the time to write me one, they deserve some kind of reply.

I don't reply to visitor messages because there really is no way to do so.

I don't intentionally ignore PMs, but sometimes several days go by before I notice I have one! I don't always remember to check.

Yikes, I actually just noticed how many PMs I need to respond to. I always have around 80some unread PMs (leftover from when the forum moved, for some reason all the PMs that moved along with it became marked as unread), so when I log in, I never remember the exact number and can't tell if I have unread PMs unless I make it a point to check them.

Sometimes if I read a PM and do not respond, it's because I meant to respond later but completely forgot. I always appreciate it if someone sent me a reminder, especially if their PM included a question.

Off to send some long overdue replies now...

OH THANK GOODNESS!!!

That is me to a T (although I legitimately was sick and then had the holidays to deal with... er, enjoy). And I was just sitting here thinking "darn, would it be considered bad form if I reply to qbchottu's now? It's been an awful long time... but I REALLY want to continue the conversation..." I was planning to stomp out my guilt and reply anyway because it's worth it just to hear your thoughts, but I'm glad you understand how I felt when I realized how late my reply would be, and then spotted this thread!
