Will you have a car that you can put her in if she gets cold? Or do you have a dog bed that you could bring with that you could let her lay on to get her off the cold ground? You could even cover her with a blanket, if needed.

It all depends on the dog and how much coat it has. Some have less coat and will get cold easier than one with more coat.
So long as you have a way to get your dog out of the wind and off the cold ground, if needed, you should be fine.

i think she will be fine, if you guys can handle it she can, shes no husky but shes no dobe either the weather wont bug her where you live with all of you there and with a fire. She will have a blast. Shepherds dont mind bad weather if they are with you. My dog will force me into the wind and snow in bad weather. Wind and snow doesnt bug shepherds.

how far away from the party area is your car going to be?
if your car is close you can put your dog in the car. take something for ground cover so your dog can lay down and not have direct contact with the ground. take blankets. if you don't want to use the blankets you have at home go to a thrift store and buy a few. take your dogs bed with you. your dog will probably be fine. sounds like a fun time. enjoy.

I swear my dog loves the cold, and she doesn't have what I would consider a real thick coat.
She has a doggy door to go outside, and there have been times I will catch her outside laying on the cold blacktop in 40 degrees and rain..... |

i know were all pet lovers and it was great hearing your comments but pets4life had a great comment toward my situation.
where were going we get dropped off and hike up a 3/4 mile trail (ct.blue trail) to the top during the day should be around 50 and toward the evening around 30, there will be other people and dogs, it will be a test for her but she adapt to the situation, either she gets tough or crawls in a hole....lol just kidding thats one thing we all don't want is dog fights but it does happen and it will jump in real fast and break it up....sorry for rambling on . thanks all |
