What is the most expensive item of yours a dog has destroyed? Expensive doesn't necessarily have to be monetary,it could be sentimental, or just time wise. I've had my wedding ring taken off the night stand by one of the dogs when I was the shower and also a brand new laptop snapped in half. This was done by dogs who never chewed anything up until that point, while we had them.
BTW the wedding ring had to be removed surgically. Last edited by Gharrissc; 11-16-2012 at 03:30 PM. |

Believe it or not, my son's homework.
![]() He was in awe that the "My dog ate my homework" cliche exists for a good reason. ![]() I had him take it to school anyway, and the whole class had a good laugh. Good thing the teacher was a dog lover! |

Ever since the discovery of crate training years ago, I haven't had much destroyed by dogs, unless it was something I gave to them to destroy.
Before I learned about crate training, I didn't have anything expensive or valuable anyway, and nothing terribly sentimental that would interest a dog. Can you count landscaping as an item? I did have a wolf hybrid (one of my life lessons) when I was young, and he destroyed everything near him, but since I didn't have anything valuable, it wasn't technically an issue. However, he ate the landlord's favorite tree, and I was subsequently evicted from that rental. So I guess the most expensive thing a dog ever destroyed was my living arrangements.

Lakota got my eye glasses worth $600, they were in my bag but the zipper wasn't closed. I still wear my riding boots even though the heel looks like some kind of funky design.

Glasses - 600. I was stupid, thinking she was fine, and put them down on the floor near the bed. She eyed them as I put them down but didn't go for them. In the morning, I woke up to fragments on the floor.
Laptop. She didn't chew this, but ran through the cord and smashed it on the floor. $$$$$
