GSD Shelters?

Hi All,

I was wondering if you guys know of any German Shepherd Shelters I can donate too? I can't foster, adopt, or transport any dogs but I can donate money, towels, toys...etc. Doesn't really matter where in the States. As long as it is reliable. It would be awesome if it was here in Los Angeles so I can even volunteer. However, there aren't any "reliable" once here that I have come across. I already donate to the humane, but at the end of the day I would really love to help out a GSD Shelter.

There's German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County. You could Google to see if there's another one. GSD rescues are, unfortunately, very common. Search German Shepherd Rescue, not German Shepherd shelter though- that should help.

Westside German Shepherd rescue is in LA.

Virginia German Shepherd Rescue has been around for 11 years now. We have found homes for well over 3000 dogs in that time. We are a 501C3 incorporated charity.

We are very proud of the fact that we also take in older dogs, special needs dogs and dogs with medical issues. If you roll through the "available dogs" section of our web site, you can see that right now we have quite a few dogs that need help.

Weeping Willow takes in alot of senior/sickly dogs also adopts out ..Pat has done an amazing job with taking care of alot of senior dogs letting them live out there lives with her.

Our baby Mars came all the way from Westside German Shepherd Rescue in LA to us in New York. Since then, they have expanded to have their own facility for dog boarding prior to adoption and incurred significant expenses. They have many, many deserving dogs. I'm sure they would welcome any donation.

My local one is the Shepherd Help And Rescue Effort. (S.H.A.R.E)


I help handling the dogs when I can and spread the word around. They have been having some great success recently. A lot of dogs found homes in the last few weeks!!

I have a special place in my heart for Robin and her crew at Westside German Shepherd Rescue in Los Angeles. They saved my dear Simon and helped him find his way to me, many years ago.

Thanks I checked out their website and I'll be donating and hopefully try to volunteer once my busy schedule eases up.
