I imagine this to be the October photo contest theme, but we are looking for the same thing though for a 13 week old pup. We want to go as a family this year so it is ME, wife, 5 yr old son, 1 yr old daughter, and puppy... our ideas so far are:

Flintstones-
Dad-fred
mom-wilma
son-bambam
daughter-pebbles
Hero-Dino

Scooby-
Dad Shaggy
mom - forgot the other ones name
son freddy
daughter thelma
hero-scooby(maybe scrappy)

Star Wars
dad-Vader
mom Leia
son LUKE
daughter r2d2/toda
hero-r2d2/yoda

Wiz of Oz
Dad-lion/toto
Mom-tinwoman
son-scarecrow
Daughter- daurothy
Hero-toto/lion

We are also looking for some sort of website to possibly get all the costumes from so we can all match but that is our plan to do a family theme this year... How many family members do you have that you could pair with the pups costume? I saw petsmart had some superhero avenger type costumes the other day...

This doesn't help your dog. But I was going to get a bunch of stuffed sheep toys, a cane, dress up with lederhosen, and bring my dog around with me.

Well I'm thinking about making a saddle for Spirit and training Monty (chihuahua) to sit on her back in a cowboy outfit.

Last year I made a cute lion costume for a friends dog. I'll see if I can find a picture of it.

My GSD's name is Robyn, my son calls her Red Robyn and the color red is just her. My friend got her a Little Red Riding Hood costume, so I guess that is what she will be for her first halloween with us.

Great thread We only dress our dogs twice a year, Halloween and fair costume contest - both for 4-H. So I'm always looking for good large dog costumes!

Last year our daughter Sabrina was pepper (black clothes w/ white P decal on her shirt) and Koda the Samoyed was salt (white t-shirt w/ black S). We found a funky colander for his shaker top and made a shaker top hat out of a bucket for our daughter.

Last year at fair Sabrina was a glass of milk and Koda was an Oreo cookie. A friend made big chocolate discs for each side of him and his fur was the middle.

This year Sabrina is dressing up as a nerd (glasses, button down shirt, short pants) and the best we have come up with is dressing Nita up as a box of Nerds candy.

Can't wait to hear everyone else's ideas
