Jäger is a DDR/Slovak/Czech dog with the typical thick thick coat for all that stuff.. whats it called? Snow?
He pants at rest if it breaks 72 degrees in the house

Newton pants all the time too. He has a medium length coat. He loves it when it gets cool so he can go lay outside and even prefers to lay in the snow. I have attributed his panting just to being warm or excited. He likes to lay in bed with us but will eventually get down just because he is too warm no matter the weather. He also tends to move around at night between sleeping spots - we think he does that because the spot he was sleeping in gets to warm and he has to find a cooler one. This summer he finally realized how nice a fan was to help him cool off!
