Default Curious who else's GSD does this?

I've only had my Ziva for 1 month, but she will be a year old uh.... today. Whenever I get up to do anything she thinks we are going out to play. I can get up to go to the kitchen, laundry room, bathroom, or just shift my weight and she runs for the back door. She looks at me like "why aren't we playing?" I take her out multiple time(2-3) for about 30 minutes at a time to play and sometimes we go for a walk. She doesn't misbehave so i think she is getting enough exercise. Is there any way to stop this?

She's still a puppy. She may outgrow it. You've only had her a short time and its very possible she enjoys your play sessions so much, she wants more. Keep in mind this is an energetic breed so its also very possible and even likely she needs more exercise and play than 2-3 30 minute trips a day whether its playing heavily or just a walk. Also be aware that spending time training IE working her mind will also tire her out more than physical excerise. Remember school? By the end of the day you were ready for a nap after all that stuff you were supposed to be learning whereas weekends out goofing off with friends not really exercising your mind, you were not even close to being tired for bed sunday night? Its kinda like that.

Our GSD's can take alot of exercise and they LOVE to play and train with us!

Are you in weekly dog classes yet? That's great fun and a big help.

Plus any OFF leash activities that you pack your dog in the car, and go to new places is a big help. Exciting new places to mentally and physically wear them out.
