Have been looking for somewhere to swim/exerise my self as 20+years of riding is now evidencing itself in my knees....so I found this really neat, not so expensive privately owned swim club within 10 miles of home.....and in conversing with the owner, she said I could bring a dog to swim if I was there for the last hour or so of open time....!!!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!!!!!! As Csabre LOVES to swim....and my Ghost could also use the exercise, I am going to join and swim them each 2x a week or so (you can even swim in the pool with the dog!!!)
Any advice on the effects of pool water on coats??? Thanks! Lee

Koda is pretty much in the pool all summer, his coat is just fine. My sister's Goldens pretty much live in their saltwater pool, they love to swim and their coats are super soft.
I don't think it affects their coat any.

I wanted to say the same thing! I can't even find an indoor pool for me to swim in!

I know!!! I know!!!! I could not believe it when I walked in and saw a couple of cats lounging around! The owner has trapped and spayed and foster/rehomed about 20 cats, let her own dog swim in the pool - and has "kicked out" a couple of members who protested the dogs in the pool!!! this is a real incentive for me to swim a couple of times a week!
Besides the indoor pool, there is a steam room, a sauna, 2 huge outdoor pools and some non high tech gym equipment - $110 for 3 months! Lee

Yes, I know - but there is no rule against it apparently!

If it's a chlorinated pool then you are going to need to give them a bath after every single swim. You will need to research natural shampoos that remove chemicals.
And, of course, they can't drink the water!
