would like some opinion on a good ball to attach to a rope for tetherball. I had the bright idea of getting a jollyball (first one ever) and attaching it to a rope so it could swing from a tree like a tetherball. WOW! Instant case of love -Ben went at it like a nut and all was looking great...I am standing back thinking -"well finally he can tire himself out without me having to do anything!"
But instead of poking the ball with his nose he was biting at it. I have the horse sized one -so I didnt think he could snag it...WRONG! He managed to chomp it several times and then got a top and bottom canine tooth imbedded in it. At the angle it was hanging I couldnt budge it off the tooth(it was really mostly the bottom canine that was stuck.) After a minute or so I was able to untie the rope and free him. After that he went nuts with it all over the yard. LOVES it more than anything else I have seen. Still, tho I would like to do the tetherball idea, but without the above mentioned drama....is there such a thing as a bll that cant be peirced but is soft enough on the teeth for this type of use?

My dogs have gotten their teeth stuck in Jolly Balls too, they've learned lay down on the ground, and hold the ball in place with a paw while yanking their head back to dislodge the tooth. I can see how that would be a big problem using it as a tetherball!
The tire-biter is a good option to try.
