Default Anyone watch Dog Whisperer last nite on NatGeo?

what can I say, TV was lacking last nite..DW has gone to NatGeo with a couple of new episodes..Nice to see a GSD in his immediate 'pack'..I felt bad for Hugo the bulldog, he was wonderful within Ceasar's pack but his owner I felt was a wimp, and poor Hugo was reverting to his old ways from the follow up at the end of the show

I thought Hugo was much happier with Milan's pack

And those JRT's,,WOWZER,,little vipers

I watched it as well and I wife both thought that Hugo owner wasn't really following ceasar's instructions. Such a shame really.

I watched the episode with the JRT's and thought it was neat that he decided to do a play by play instead of just fixing the dogs and moving on to another case. I always love being able to analyze and watch dog behavior! It was a bit sad for me though because we have the same problem in our household except with a GSD and a Cattle dog. It was hard for me to see in other dogs the anxiety that living together can cause. We keep them apart except for leashed walks but the anxiety is still very much there for my Cattle dog.... it became even more glaringly obvious when I saw the same issues on the show

I really wanted to watch the one afterwards about Hugo but my family arrived for dinner so off it went...

I saw most of the JRT episode but had to DVR the bulldog one.

The JRT's were little demons weren't they! I thought the woman seemed to have a good amount of insight as to when the fights were going to start (even catching it before CM did at one point) but as much of a CM fan as I am, it was nice to see that even the pro couldn't get the two females to the point of a miracle cure to live happily ever after. I think with females that have already started fighting, it's just not always going to happen.

I saw the beginning of the bulldog one before I had to let the DVR take over, and i'm not surprised to hear it didn't go well later with the owner. That guy, for all his athletic skills, seemed to be a complete geek who had way too much dog for him to handle. I LMAO at the flimsy little latch on the doghouse/crate thing he had inside, and the cheap looking little fabric "gate" into the kitchen. I mean really?! You have a big strong dog biting all your friends and neighbors and you use fabric to contain it?

I really felt bad for Hugo,,here Milan took him for a couple months, and I think really fell in love with him, he looked like he was going to cry when he returned him..That dog went all over offleash, was his demo dog, took him to some armybase..and then the owner gets him back and messes him back up

I enjoyed both shows and love seeing a German Shepherd puppy in his pack, a very handsome puppy as well, I thought Hugo should have stayed with Cesar as he is far too much dog for that man.

I've often felt that some people shouldn't have dogs... but then again I've often felt that way with some people having children. Well.... what are you going to do.... *sigh*

I don't get the nat geo channel with my channel package (wish they would make a-la-cart more affordable)

But about the dog reverting to it's previous habits when returned to the owners I see it at our trainer's facility all the time.

It's gotta be the most frustrating thing for trainers. Especially with the 'board & train' set up. One lady was coming to our basic obedience with a little boston terrier. Trainers had fixed him all up they got her to come to classes to keep up with it but she just couldn't.

She just couldn't break "her" bad habits. My trainer said he has actually turned some people away because they don't want to follow up with the in home training and often get frustrated then blame the trainers.....

...and so it goes.
