How about Bully sticks? Make sure you buy the ones from the USA.

They are made from the part that makes the bull different than the cow
Our dogs really like them....however they don't last long. We have on occasion given Sherman cow hooves when he is in our presence. As a standby though we leave an antler for him when he is going to be crated. He loves them and they last forever!!

I love rawhide bones and Sasha does too. They aren't extremely messy (well...usually...). Her favorite for sure are raw bones with some meat and marrow still there (careful though, too much marrow can cause the runs in dogs that aren't used to it.). I don't do pig ears because I just tend to not like cooked things, but that's just me. Sometimes you can get "raw" bones from feed stores that also sell raw patties. I say "raw" because it's a cleaner kind of raw, not so much meat and stuff on the outside but they still have the marrow in the middle. I let Sasha have those in the house. The real raw ones she has to eat outside because the turkey would drag them onto my light tan carpet . You could also buy some antlers. Those seem to last a bit longer, so if you have an extreme chewer it would seem to lengthen the fun.

Antlers, elk is my choice for recreational chews. They don't smell, and are natural. If you can't get them locally, this site is the most reasonable I've found:
antlers
Though the more I recommend it the price probably goes up! I should get a commission!!!!
If a pup is teething, I'd try my hardest to get some natural fresh raw beef knucklebones from a butcher. Cold cartilage is great for a teething pup/ears going up, too. Some butchers/meat depts call them soup bones, they should have that rounded appearance of a joint. Not a marrow bone.
Rawhide can cause blockages, so be warned....and if they aren't processed safely can contain harmful chemicals...China imports them bigtime.

rawhides contain formaldahyde from processing....my dogs eat healthier than me....no chemicals, no junk...raw bones are the chewies - I do have a big chunk of elk antler, and Basha will gnaw on it, and a few nylabones lying around...but no bully sticks, ears, tails, etc.

Buddy used to love pig ears but I've since read scary stuff about dogs choking on them or obstructions. Rey likes bison joint bones but cow ones give her diarrhea. Go figure. Rey and Buddy both LOVE Nylabone chewbones, which break off into small, digestible pieces.
