Default Experiment: Dreaming Doggy + your smell

The last couple of times my GSD has been actively dreaming (legs kicking, paws moving, soft growls, etc.), I moved over to him and positioned my hand just below his nose to see if my smell would effect him or his dream. So far the last two times he seemed to have calmed down but I am not sure if I am actually waking him up a bit or if my smell really is having an effect. I would be curious to know if any of you have tried this or noticed a similar effect.

never tried it but i can see where you want it to be
your smell that calms him. when our dog is dreaming my GF
tells me to leave him alone. whenshe's not around i wake him
with my voice or a pet or both.

The second I move a muscle both my dogs will wake up, so I don't think I could ever try this out.

I always call my dogs name and tell it that it is a dream and wake it up. I don't like the thoughts of them having bad dreams.

I've noticed something similar. When I'm sitting outside on the porch, Hondo will be sniffing around giving the porch the once over (our feral cat will hang out on the porch). With his head down to the ground he'll pass over my foot..or calf (I don't say a word) and his tail will give a wag or two. He doesn't stop his search, he continues on.
