Default People think we're crazy, but the craziness works!

I get the eye rolls, and the quiet laughter when I constantly talk to Sasha (often answering on her behalf). I do it pretty much all day long, mostly because usually it's just me and her and it seems less crazy than talking to myself lol! Since Sasha has come into my life I tend just to narrate my life.

Well I have noticed that the sound of my voice calms her down in "stressful" situations. The girl has ants in her pants half the time, and as a result views paw cleaning after we go outside to be rather tedious, after all there are places to go, people to see, and bones to eat, no time for cleaning paws! We were doing it the other day when it had rained and at first she was like, "No put my paw down; I just wanna go in!" As soon as I started jabbering at her that quit.

Today I had to put her ear drops in, something she views along the same lines as torture; I might as well be chopping off her ear for all the carrying on I get. As soon as I started my whole, "Oh what a good girl. That's my brave Princess Girl." Etc. that all stopped.

I have no doubt that much of what I say is lost to her, comprehension wise, but she totally gets the tone and it calms her down.

So next time you get the "You're nuts" look or get laughed at you can smile because you know that, while you might be a little crazy, sometimes it pays to be just a little crazy.

I think you are as sane as I am (for what that's worth ) I constantly talk to Stoli and will continue to do so forever...yes I know he can't answer back but sometimes by his eye rolls or his little huffs he does I can only imagine what his answers would be. My parents love when I ask Stoli questions and get the head tilt to the side...they try to get him to do it and he just looks at them and runs over for a belly rub. My mom the other day made a similar comment about what stoli would say if he could talk back to us... and yes it does help calm them down and make certain jobs easier so I say keep on talkin!!!

I get the eye rolls and the sighs a lot, but the funniest is when I'm talking to mom and I'm going on some big, long winded story Sasha will sometimes groan right in the middle of it as if to say, "Oh just shut up!" It seems like she only does this when I'm talking

The head tilt is a favorite "party trick" at our house. Sasha has learned the phrase, "Do you want..." and usually doesn't wait to hear the noun; she has apparently decided if it's offered she wants it! So we'll get the head tilt and then the running over and fussing. I find it fun to trick her sometimes lol I'll be like, "Do you want...a spanking?" -Head tilt and emphatic fussing- Then she gets a gentle pat on the butt and she just looks at me like, "Really?....that's it?...*sigh* that was boring...."
