Default Getting roller blades today =D

Sheldon is getting better and better about running...so to help him be able to keep up a nice trot and wear him out a little more (off leash is a lot of running for us to keep him stimulated, otherwise he gets bored), so we're going to get some 'blades and shred up the town while the snow is melted!! Time to shed a few pounds myself ;] Anyone else do this with your dogs? =D

I ride my bike, and Klasue cant hold a full gallop up much more than about a mile, then we slow down from a gallop to a trot, which he can keep up seemingly forever.

It's amazing, isn't it?? Shel gets lazy (always has been) after a few feet of running...but he loves to trot, and with blades, we can keep up that pace for ages. win/win sort of deal =D How far do you go with the trot? He can walk 5 miles with ease, so I'm wondering if he can trot that?

I rollerblade with Bianca sometimes and I did it a lot with my previous two. It's a lot of fun and good exercise for them.

I would build up slowly if he's not used to trotting/running for longer distances. I think I started Bianca with a mile or two.

I do this with my girl when we're in a city. Lots of fun. My advice from personal experience: choose an area without many squirrels!

My only other advice is wear padding!
Squirrels haven't really a problem for me usually because my dog is more of a 'stalk-as-slowly-as-possible' type dog than a 'chase-it-down-NOW' type.
