If "rescued" these guys have 72 hours (chained to a plywood doghouse in teperatures as low as -50) and if not adopted are taken to the dump! and shot and tossed
it only takes minutes to sign up (for free) and VOTE for this much needed animal shelter! We were in 2nd place but have fallen to 4th...PLEASE pass this on anywhere and vote once a day for the next 2 days.Help Us Build Nunavut's First Animal Shelter | Aviva Community Fund thank you so much! |

I voted. Sad story about the pup in the ice.
Well... sad at first, but ended beautifully.

This happens in a lot of Northern communities - in some of the Yukon communities where people view spay/neuter as "un-natural" yet do not want to keep their dogs away from other intact dogs, there is a yearly round-up of dogs to be shot by the RCMP.
We need shelters build in more places up north to stop this from happening, but the bigger need is for education, free (mobile) spay/neuter clinics, and better laws in Canada helping protect these dogs against this cruelty in the first place! |
