I am so glad that this is working out for both you and Hitch.

I risked life and limb to get this shot (I actually stood on the kitchen counter).

I think that shows what hips should look like. Looks pretty good for an 8 year old eh? He was a bit puzzled by my primate-ish climbing, was jabbering the whole time.

Oh i forgot to mention Hitch did get to go shopping while at petsmart the original reason I stopped.

And my Shiba aka Kanji cleans on Hitch daily, and cleans 1 of Hitch's bite wound and one prong collar wound where Hitch cannot reach about twice a day between my cleanings. But Kanji can get a bit OCD about some things. And of course his breed is so super clean. He is pretty prissy about being clean.

Oh and the bad can't forget to mention that...and the vets said it was normal clumps of Hitch's hair is coming out. Not Shedding, but from his nutrition that he is actually getting now...I had another foster that did this to, for the same reason. A Siberian Husky.

Oh most certainly. He wouldn't be a proper Shiba otherwise!!!

Hitch is a great looking dog! I wouldn't put any more weight on him. It is ok to be able to see the ribs, especially when you are dealing with joint problems and trying to build up his muscles. He really doesn't look underweight.

OMG Chelle the Shiba's are twins.

I stopped the "Meatballs" already. I wanted to quickly get some weight on him, any more now will be very, very slowly. He is still getting other food and kibble just like all my dogs have. I have used the 1lb meatballs before with starving underweight dogs.

Very handsome. He looks like my pup but bigger. Both dogs look very happy.

I can understand why he is a velcro dog. He knows you are the best thing that ever happened to him and doesn't want you out of his site. Great job you've done!
