Default What Does Your Dog Do "Odd" ???

Ok, I will start...

Viktor has a nice big water bowl next to his food bowl in the kitchen. I wash this and fill it with nice fresh water everyday.

He also has a small plastic disposable Glad food container, that I put water in, next to his bed, upstairs in the bedroom (so he doesn’t have to go down stairs at night for a drink).

He almost NEVER drinks out of the bowl in the kitchen. He will go upstairs, and bring the little “night dish” down for me to fill to drink out of!!! He will carry it around the house in his mouth and whine till I put water in it for him.

What about your dog???

Gunny will only drink fresh water from his bowl. If its been there longer than he thinks it should be, he will go to the bathroom, stand up at the sink and wait for me to turn the faucet on.

Baxter HAS to thank either me, or my fiance when we've given him food or water. He'll take a bite or drink, then come over to where we are and just stare at us until we say, "You're welcome!" It's the goofiest thing (and cutest). One day we weren't in the room for him to do that, and then we headed out with him for a play day - when we got back, we realized he hadn't eaten...which is incredibly unusual for us. He just gave us a look of, "Well I couldn't say thanks, so...what did you think I'd do?"

Abby eats some kibble then takes a drink, eats some, drinks some.
What does she do that is odd? She unscrews the caps (and rings) off plastic soda bottles. When one is done we toss her another and she gets right to work on it.
She's not OCD but she likes to have a job to do.

Kya will not eat out of her bowl. She will get a mouthful of food then walk over to either her bed downstairs or the rug, drop the mouthful and eat it piece by piece.

Last night she had a mouthful of food when I went to give the dogs a little piece of steak, she spit it out and took the steak over to her bed to eat it.

Meika communicates with her nose. She touches her nose to the door knob to go out, touches the water spicket outside for me to spray her and the leash for walks. It's pretty funny. She is very calm about it. Almost statuesque.

Discoe has a stuffed frog that she got for her birthday when she turned 2.
Since then, she likes to leave this frog in the oddest places. I've found it sitting up perfectly on the couch, sitting in front of the front door, placed in the crate in my bedroom (she is not crated, btw. It's for my other dog. I've watched her open the door to this crate before, so I'm convinced that she opens the door for the purpose of putting this frog in it).
She dances. A LOT. Does little two-steps and chorus-line kicks just for the heck of it.
When company comes over, she likes to show them her entire toy collection. She'll grab a toy, walk out to sort of 'runway' with it, stop so that you have a long enough time to get a look at it, and then come back to the room to switch that toy out with a new one. Lather, rinse, repeat.
She'll also do kamikaze face plants into the ground while running. Just be going full-tilt in a field, and then she'll lower her head, angle the side so that it's parallel with the ground, and FWOOMP! Flip herself, hit the grass, flop around on her back like a trout, and then get up, look at you to make sure you were watching, and take off running again.

When Sheldon wants something (especially to go outside), he will look at you and stomp his foot. And when he has to pee, he'll do this little dance with his front paws. He also chases crickets. and catches flies like a pro (he just sits REEAALLY still until one comes close...and SNAP! he catches it. Quite amazing, really.

Instead of using her back legs to scratch under her chin, Dooney will lay on the tile floor and rub her chin back and forth on the tile or on her paws/nails. I thought at first she was having a seizure, she has done this since I brought her home.
