Whoa dudes! I just really wanted to know how people felt about their decisions, nothing nefarious going on here. I'm shopping for a GSD and am happy to read that so many people felt the quality and guarantee of good breeding was more then worth it. I was momentarily tempted by byb's because as I'm surfing there are just so many.

Next time I buy a GSD I am willing to pay up to $2,000 for the right one.

Worth every penny!

Zefra is a loaner, so...... JK... (inside joke!)

I am willing to spend as much as I can afford for what I want.

Fight the temptation! As others have said, a BYB puppy can end up being a lot costlier in the long run because of vet bills and possible extra training costs, and that's just monetary costs. There's also an emotional cost that comes with dealing with an unhealthy (physically or temperamentally) dog that you love. It can take a real toll on you and your family.

Back to your original question, my puppy was $1500, and I have no regrets whatsoever. I would pay as much as I could afford for my dream puppy. Considering that Batman IS my dream puppy, I think I got a great deal.

Couldn't say it better than that.

I don't have a problem spending upwards of 3 or 4 k for the right pup. more on an older dog. That being said, my dog funds have been frozen at current spending levels for the time being

no, i don't regret paying 1,800.00 for my dog but
i'm not sure how you're comparing regret to a dollar amount.

your dog is the way he is because of you and you probably
could have taken a pound special and turned it into something
special.

Uh, I don't think so.
