Anyone in the NOVA area? I live in the chantilly area and would love to meet other gsd owners for a play date with my gsd "lucy" my gsd is almost a year old now

Hopefully people will contact you, may want to bump this later because between busy holidays and weekends and winter...people may be thinking more of meet up a bit later.

BTW, I met tons of great people in my dog classes and it was easy to organize and plan meetups cause we met once a week anyways!

Every Sunday, a group of folks all get together and walk their dogs at the Occoquan Regional Park from 10 until 11. Some are VGSR volunteers, others have adopted dogs, and other folks just join in on the fun. Most of the dogs are GSDs, but there are a couple of other non-GSD regulars too.

We are also having an adoption day at the Petsmart in Gainesville on Sunday from 11 until 2 - there will be lots of GSD fanatics and fosters with their dogs there.

On Friday nights, a group of GSD folks who used to meet up at the Reston Town Center around 6 will instead be meeting at Dog University which is at 45925 Maries Rd in Sterling. This is hosted by a couple of very good trainers and all are welcome. Since the weather got cold they decided to move this event inside. James and Shan Oliver are both dedicated GSD folks who enjoy helping folks with their GSDs and promoting our fabulous breed!

We will also be doing photos with Santa at quite a few Petmarts. I believe this information will be listed on our site which is www.shepherdrescue.org

So, you are very fortunate that you live in an area with a plethora of GSD folks and lots of GSD events. I hope to meet you at one soon!
