Berlin loves his crate. And I mean LOVES.
Once, I locked him OUT of it, because I wanted him to come snuggle with me, and he sat in front of it whining. From the moment I brought him home, i associated it with awesome things, like a treat every time he went in. (and only a special treat that he ONLY gets when I leave for the day) He has a few crate toys that stay in there, not to mention it is (now) spacious, and comfy. |

Both of them do. My male prefers to be in there instead of the rest of the house. It's like his own little den!

Duke is totally neutral towards his crate, he crashes out on the living room floor at about 9pm every night, we have to wake him up a couple of hours later for toilet and put him in his crate which he doesn't mind. I don't think he would stay in there with the door open though.

Stella loves hers. I say "Go to jail", and she happily trots in. I also feed her in her crate. She has access to it all day and will sometimes choose to lay in there on her own. I can't take full credit for the crate training. My son had her for 3 weeks before I did and she was already pretty familiar with it. I never used it for her to sleep at night though. Just for when no one was home. And she always got wonderful treats in her crate.
I sure wish I could see pix of the dogs sleeping on top of their crate. Must be funny....
