Sable Black/tan Blanket ? What are they/
This may appear a stupid question but Daisy per her papers is a sable. I just called her Blonde. Lucky is predominately Black with more black on his face then Daisy. She does not have a real dark saddle. So can someone show me what a sable is ?

Show me your contrasting Sables....
This thread is all about sables. What color was Daisy when you got her?

It's easiest to tell sables from Black and Tans when they are pups, as some patterned or light sables will closely resemble a Black and Tan. It's very difficult to tell on your Daisy as an adult if she's a light sable or a faded black and tan- but as a pup it would have been very obvious.
Not the best picture but the two pups on the right are sables. And the one on the left is a black and tan. Sable pups are sort of tannish/grayish with the black in the guard hairs coming in later and black and tan pups are born more black...the tan comes in as they get their adult coat.
