Default Three and Gray!

Hi There!

We have had our sable Thunder for about 3.5 years and I noticed recently that he is going gray around his mouth and muzzle.

Is this because of the prednizone he is on every other day to control his scratching (Long long LONG story)?

I don't know if it could have anything to do with the pred, but some dogs just get gray/white earlier just like some people get white/gray hairs in their 20s and 30s.

Sorry to hear about the pred, I have a cat who is on it too.

Rafi isn't on prednisone and he is very grey (at about 5 years old). He started going grey very young. I think it's because he worries too much.

Riley started greying when he was about 3. he's now 6. Some dogs go grey sooner than others just like with people.

When I got JR at 5 years old his muzzle was extremely gray. His two offspring, Ringer & Honey, started getting what I called "frosting" (I hated using the term gray with puppies) when they were less than a year old.

Its just genetic. Argos started going gray around 2yrs and at 4 years is very gray. Much grayer in fact than our almost 9 year old.
