The downside of hiring a pet sitter and not boarding. The weather service was not even calling for rain much less weather that could produce a tornado. So we were on vacation, 6 hours away.
When I say they survived the tornado I mean the tornado tore through the dog's fenced area ripping off that side of the home and left 2 pieces of fence still standing. Amazingly their covered area was untouched. We drove back (got back around 5am) to find them in the front yard scared but in otherwise good shape. |

Glad you and your dogs are safe.
I have been wondering how some members are doing like Jake & Renee all the others too. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in the path of these storms.

I feel sort of weird being happy about the dogs because less than a half mile away several lives were lost. I don't know why there were spared, there were in the direct path and the tornado must have change directions just in the nick of time.

A life is a life, doesn't matter if it is a pet or human, it's a life and your dogs mean something to you. So there is nothing wrong with being happy that your dogs got out of there safe&sound while being sad for the once that lost their lives.

You certainly can't feel bad about your dogs being saved. Maybe you can turn around the feeling of empathy though and do something to help (if you are not already doing so)
